Linders association with Smithfield began in 1938 when Patrick “Sonny” Linders opened his first garage in a lock-up on Stable Lane. He grew this into the motor trade, and Linders The Car People continues to this day. As his company and trade developed, he took the business into the property sector.

His sons, Joe and Patrick Linders, continued to grow the property business, managing developments across Dublin, Ireland and Northern Ireland while his grandson Paul continued to grow the motor side of the business. Other companies have been added over the years including a Heating & Engineering business, C&F Quadrant.
